Julie is an Oregon pianist and composer of peaceful and unique music that moves the heart.  Her music spans several genres from relaxing/new age to contemporary classical to jazz to romantic. Writing music since she was a little girl, she received her formal music education at the University of Oregon where she graduated with a degree in music with special emphasis on piano and composition.
Julie's music has been described as "peaceful yet intriguing." One reviewer described her as being a lovely combination of George Winston meets Erik Satie. This is a true compliment of Julie's ability to compose and perform music that both inspires and soothes.
Her newest album was released in January of 2021 with Heart Dance Records and is titled Where the Ocean Meets the Sky.  With 14 original, emotional and beautiful songs, her intention is that this album imparts a sense of rest, wonder, peace and healing.  Her previous albums Painting in Sound and A Peace-filled Christmas have been heard around the world on streaming platforms, and A Peace-Filled Christmas was nominated for Holiday Album of the Year in 2019 on SoloPiano.com.
Prior to the pandemic, Julie was the creator of a series of Peace Through Music concerts in which she gathered musicians together to create unique experiences of musical connection, vibration and peace.
Reviewer Rob Benny from On the Fringes of Sound reviewed Julie's album Where the Ocean Meets the Sky and wrote, "Expressive without being pretentious or needlessly flashy, Julie’s music is performance with an aura – one which will emotionally move you in many ways." Benny also wrote, "Although only pianos are recorded on the album, I really found Julie’s 'less is more' approach to recording to work extremely well throughout. Her technical prowess allows her to compose and record with such depth that it isn't even necessary to add any additional instruments or orchestration to any of these selections. The music is so vividly expressive, I end up finding myself in another place where the music portrays the very landscape I imagine myself in."
When not at the piano, Julie loves to explore forests, mountains, rivers, lakes and beaches of the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
